Ricoh has announced limited-editions of its PENTAX flagship, the K-1 Mark II. It has been joined by new versions of the D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4 and 85mm f/1.4 lenses in the same silver color. All 4 will be available in limited runs from September 2020.

Ricoh has prepared new Silver Editions of its up-to-date PENTAX cameras and lenses. They comprise limited runs of the PENTAX K-1 Mark II (a DSLR capable of FHD recording and an ISO range of 100 to 819200) and 3 HD PENTAX-D FA*-series lenses. The OEM claims that they, like their predecessors released in 2017 and 2010, will be sought after by enthusiasts of this brand.

Accordingly, only 1000 of the new K-1 Mark II versions are to be sold, as are 600 units of each of the 3 Silver lenses. They have been finished in a “high-grade, fine-textured silver coating” that has been applied to the body and battery grip in the camera’s case, leaving its shutter button and hot-shoe a contrasting black.

The PENTAX K-1 Mark II Silver Edition also has a new SR badge on its front and serial numbers that range from 0000001 to 0001000. It also comes in a limited-edition box with 2 “exclusive” batteries. It will be priced at US$2099.95 (whereas the ‘normal’ version is currently on sale for $1799.99), while the lenses will go for $1199.95 to $2099.95. They will be available from Ricoh’s website and some of its appointed retailers.

This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
