Noctua has announced new additions to its line-up. For the uninitiated, they are versions of this Austrian OEM’s PC coolers or fans in an all-matte black finish. These latest examples are new versions of the award-winning NH-D15 asymmetric cooler and the NH-U9S compact fan.

Today’s (October 28, 2020) launch of the new AMD Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs may have many PC gaming enthusiasts thinking about their next build. Noctua may have those drawn to a clean finish and color-matching to their rigs covered with new members of the cooler/fan series.

They are new versions of the NH-D15 cooler and NH-U9S fan. This new NH-D15S has the same specs as its non-black counterpart, which is to say a multi-socket (Intel LGA115x and LGA20xx or AMD AM4, AM3(+), AM2(+), FM1/2) compatibility with a SecuFirm2 attachment system and an asymmetrical structure that means it should fit on even microATX boards without encroaching on the uppermost PCIe slot.

The NH-U9S ( or otherwise) has a 9 centimeter (cm) form-factor with a 5-heatpipe system and an asymmetric design of its own to enhance space-saving on multiple board types. This new colored fan is now priced at US$64.90/€64.90, whereas the NH-D15S is now US$89.90/€89.90, via the OEM’s own webstore.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general.
This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
